Disappointment VS Discouragement

www.swimandseetheworld.com

We can be disappointed and we can be discouraged. What is the difference between the two? There are many instances in our life that are unavoidable, on the other hand, there are circumstances that we have a choice.  Having choices is always good.   :=)

Example 1. One night a wife prepared the most favorite dinner of her husband. Upon arriving home the husband ate the dinner without saying anything about it. The wife did not expect that her husband will not even say a word of appreciation. She was greatly disappointed. Disappointment is unavoidable. It is the feeling of failed expectation.

Example 2. An employee always complains about her boss. She has no satisfaction and always finds the weakness of her superior. She gripes big time each day and there is no day that she is not satisfied and always complain big time. As an effect of her character, she is always discouraged.  Discouragement is a choice we make. We can choose not to be discouraged and be happy. Griping causes discouragement.  Discouragement is dangerous!

Just A Moment...

Just A Moment...
by: iSwim

Just a moment! Step back, keep calm, keep quiet and say nothing in a moment and just observe... These gestures are signs of self control and self confidence, and people with these characters are admirable and beautiful. Gentle words make life and health (but griping causes discouragement). Slow to speak is a sign of a great mind, in other words, a great mind chooses the correct word before "blasting off." Harsh words stir up anger and staying cool and calm is a plus. Calm is strength and anger is weakness. Be calm and keep calm and think first before speaking. THINK means:

T - Is it true?

H - Is it helpful?

I - Is it inspiring?

N - Is it necessary?

 K - Is it kind?

Lastly, there are instances in life that words are our re-battle. Being quiet in just a moment or for a longer moment during angry situations (even during times of disappointments) makes one wins the battle. A person with a "closed mind" usually have the wide "open mouth."

Why Worry?

www.swimandseetheworld.com

Why worry?

W - worrying adds WRINKLES to your face.

O - worrying makes one feel so OLD and grumpy.

R - worrying causes one RETIRE from the happiness that life brings.

R - worrying drains the brain and does not make it RELAX

Y - not worrying makes one feel YOUNG.

Do not worry! Do not be anxious! Be happy and Smile~

Luke 12:22  ESV
"And he said to his disciples, "Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat, nor about your body, what you will put on. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing."
