Disappointment VS Discouragement

www.swimandseetheworld.com

We can be disappointed and we can be discouraged. What is the difference between the two? There are many instances in our life that are unavoidable, on the other hand, there are circumstances that we have a choice.  Having choices is always good.   :=)

Example 1. One night a wife prepared the most favorite dinner of her husband. Upon arriving home the husband ate the dinner without saying anything about it. The wife did not expect that her husband will not even say a word of appreciation. She was greatly disappointed. Disappointment is unavoidable. It is the feeling of failed expectation.

Example 2. An employee always complains about her boss. She has no satisfaction and always finds the weakness of her superior. She gripes big time each day and there is no day that she is not satisfied and always complain big time. As an effect of her character, she is always discouraged.  Discouragement is a choice we make. We can choose not to be discouraged and be happy. Griping causes discouragement.  Discouragement is dangerous!

Just A Moment...

www.swimandseetheworld.com

Just A Moment...
by: iSwim

Just a moment! Step back, keep calm, keep quiet and say nothing in a moment and just observe... These gestures are signs of self control and self confidence, and people with these characters are admirable and beautiful. Gentle words make life and health (but griping causes discouragement). Slow to speak is a sign of a great mind, in other words, a great mind chooses the correct word before "blasting off." Harsh words stir up anger and staying cool and calm is a plus. Calm is strength and anger is weakness. Be calm and keep calm and think first before speaking. THINK means:

T - Is it true?

H - Is it helpful?

I - Is it inspiring?

N - Is it necessary?

 K - Is it kind?

Lastly, there are instances in life that words are our re-battle. Being quiet in just a moment or for a longer moment during angry situations (even during times of disappointments) makes one wins the battle. A person with a "closed mind" usually have the wide "open mouth."

Why Worry?

www.swimandseetheworld.com

Why worry?

W - worrying adds WRINKLES to your face.

O - worrying makes one feel so OLD and grumpy.

R - worrying causes one RETIRE from the happiness that life brings.

R - worrying drains the brain and does not make it RELAX

Y - not worrying makes one feel YOUNG.

Do not worry! Do not be anxious! Be happy and Smile~

Luke 12:22  ESV
"And he said to his disciples, "Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat, nor about your body, what you will put on. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing."

A Time To Be Grateful

www.swimandseetheworld.com

It's always time to be grateful...but there should always be a time to reflect about it, say it, express it, and think about it.

This time is the second month of the last quarter of the this year 2012. Time flies and life is swiftly moving on, and I hope not into the oblivion. We should not be regretful of the past, since it cannot be changed at all, but it is important to think about the marvelous things that happened and be grateful of it. On the other hand, it is essential to look at the past events in our life and learn from the the tiny details of errors or mistakes that we all have done. As the saying goes, "No one is perfect," but, hopefully, this saying will not be an excuse to commit deliberate mistakes in the future time that lies ahead.

What a wonderful world we live in! All bare necessities of life are available for our expense. It is just a matter of shaping and looking for them. Thank you for the work I have. This makes me establish more self-competence, self-confidence and self-worth. Thank you for the advance technologies. Brilliant brains of highly gifted people make modern life easy as compared before. A click if a button sends message across the globe. A metal-flying big birds, I mean airplanes, make me see and explore the world and appreciate more the beauty of this Earth. Thanks for the people I love. Thanks for my parents who imparted to me the Christian values, specially my mother. Her words, her messages in her writings are wonderful thoughts and truths to live by, even during this age of my life. Thanks for my siblings and nephew for being part of my life. Thanks for my students who provide me an opportunities to become more patient as a person. Thanks for my sport, of course, swimming, which relaxes me  after long hours at work. Thanks for my colleagues at work,  acquaintances and friends in places I spend a fraction of my day regularly.

A very special thanks to the King Jesus Christ, who provides me all my needs and for being his son, which makes me "rich" because I am the son of  the Almighty King. Thank you for everything, my Lord and my God.

A time to be grateful.

Smiles brighten each day. Take life easy and worry-free, and not hard and full of worries! Worrying means self-uncertainty, signs of lack of self-confidence, and in a Christian point of view, lack of trust and faith in God.

In addition, it takes few face muscles to smile than to fraught. As a result, less energy is spent when you smile and it takes extra ATP's when you fraught.

It's A WOW!

www.swimandseetheworld.com

It's a WOW!
It's a "Work Of Wonder!"

How many things, events, situations, and other instances in our life when we said, "Wow!" Those are moments of grateful feelings! Aren't they? Every good thing that happens to us always bring a great feeling. Needless to say, as a Christian, it's the Lord God who make all those things to happen in accordance to His will, and, of course,  in a timely manner. "All things work together for good to those who love the Lord." (The Bible).

On the other hand, there are times that we are challenged and it seems that situations are not working the way we expect, in other words, not in favor of us. These "unfavorable" situations test our faith in God. To Christians whose faith has a "sure foundation," they will remain immovable and not rumbled by storms, in addition, their faith is even more strengthened. These could be even the times when Christians whose faith has a sure foundation take these unfavorable situations calmly and not worry about it, instead,  they give it to the Lord and let Him take care of it.  Worrying shows faithlessness, and these things or situations what we are worrying about may not even happen. Why worry? Let Him do His Works Of Wonders!

Life is a day by day event. It is a day by day WOW! The next day should be viewed as day better than today and yesterday is nothing but a past. Do not be regretful from what happened in the past, since it cannot be changed at all. Move on and face the NOW and think WOW!
